Este lunes, el pelotón de la Vuelta a España se preparaba para disputar la primera jornada de alta montaña, correspondiente a la etapa 3 de la competencia. Sin embargo, la lluvia y el granizo fueron un obstáculo para Tadej Pogačar y compañía, pues la jornada fue cancelada debido a las fuertes condiciones climatológicas.
La tormenta sorprendió a los ciclistas en la subida al Col de Mont-Louis, de primera categoría, a una veintena de kilómetros de la meta, dejando la carretera impracticable. El encargado de detener la carrera fue el líder de la clasificación general, Tadej Pogačar, quien pidió a sus colegas que se detuvieran.
Debido a la cancelación de la jornada, la clasificación general de la carrera no sufrió cambios.
